Jennie's journey from the pinnacle of motorsport broadcasting, with amongst others, BBC Radio 5 Live and ITV Sport to overcoming a life-altering health challenge adds a profound layer to her presence in the speakers' line up. Her ongoing resilience and determination throughout the recovery process serve as a testament to her and her family, as she returned to the F1 paddock at the Dutch Grand Prix, just 8 months after her stroke.
Speaking about joining the Motorsport Speakers roster, Jennie is looking forward to working with Ignition.
"I am delighted to be taking another step in my post stroke life, returning to the stage as a speaker. I’ve always been driven to improve myself, and hopefully can take others along on the journey with me. Thanks to Ignition for taking on my challenge, I look forward to working with Nick and the team."
Jennie’s narrative of overcoming adversity aligns with Ignition's commitment to delivering a platform for a diverse range of speakers and topics, using the lessons from Motorsport to Business, which is then also instilled within their wider learning and development courses and business consultancy. As part of her engagements, Jennie will not only provide insights into the world of motorsport but will also share her personal journey of recovery, offering audiences a unique blend of professional expertise, human resilience and give a true understanding to employers of what it is like to employ a person with a disability.
Managing Director, Nick Butcher is proud that Jennie has entrusted Ignition Human Performance to help share her story.
"I am thrilled to welcome Jennie to our Motorsport Speakers roster. Obviously, I was shocked when I heard she had suffered a stroke but was delighted when she told me that she would like to work with us to help her tell others about her experience. As people know, I am a big advocate for people with a disability getting opportunities within the workplace through my work as a trustee of the charity halow project, so it’s an honour to be entrusted with this responsibility, which we’ll work very closely with Jennie on.
However, we know that is just one part of Jennie’s life and as an experienced sports broadcaster, along with her work on Drive to Survive. I’m excited to see her share her unique story."
