Simon Reynolds

Simon Reynolds is a sports scientist and performance coach specialising in the physical preparation and performance development of elite racing drivers from karting through to Formula One. He is the founder of FORMULA TO PERFORM, a specialist human performance programme developed through two decades of work with the world’s top competitors, designed to ensure individuals are fully prepared for the demands of competition and high-performance environments.

Simon spent 14 years with the prestigious Formula One team McLaren, serving as Driver Performance Manager. During this time, he played a central role in the physical development of three drivers from their earliest competitive stages through to Formula One, each progressing to secure championship titles on their journey to the pinnacle of the sport.

Across his 20-year career at the forefront of elite sport, Simon has worked with 12 current and former Formula One drivers, including Sir Lewis Hamilton, Heikki Kovalainen, Lando Norris, Alex Albon, Kevin Magnussen and Stoffel Vandoorne. He has also managed the athletic development programmes of more than 30 professional racing drivers competing across 25 international racing series, including karting, single-seaters, GT racing, and Formula One. His programmes have supported multiple race wins and championship successes, built on a philosophy that combines scientific rigour, long-term performance sustainability, and the highly specialised physical and cognitive demands of motorsport.

Beyond the racetrack, Simon shares insights and stories from the world’s most performance-driven sport with organisations and leadership teams. Through his experiences working with elite drivers and Formula One teams, he offers a unique perspective on the culture of preparation that underpins success at the highest level - where nothing is left to chance, every detail matters, and performance is built long before the lights go out. His insights explore how individuals prepare to perform under pressure as part of elite teams, the habits and disciplines that underpin consistent performance, and the mindset required to deliver when the smallest margins determine success or failure.
